Each of these halls should be able to be divided into 2 smaller halls too (one for men and the other onefor women). So, the challenge was to create a method resulting in a spatial organization that would respond to the clients brief. Moreover, we wanted to create an uncertain space which could serve as an urban space too. Finally, the projectwere made up of different spaces which are linked together and yet, each can operate separately and independentlyin relation to the city, without interfering with the spatial functionality of the rest of the complex.

Iran Telecommunication Research Center Building

At first, being invited by the client, we faced a building that had already its foundation built, and so had the columns and the beams. So, the design team had to deal with a site full of columns already being placed. The first decision was to consider these columns as the context of the site; therefore we could change a threatinto an opportunity. Then the aim was to create a way in adoptability with the project’s context (site full of columns). We categorized the required spaces of the building into four groups:1-Public Spaces2-Specialized spaces3- Circulation areas4- Service AreasThe challenge was to organize these parts through the creation of an organizational space. Some special loopswere created by which, all the project elements could be organized. In fact, we hired a method that could adaptitself with the context of project.(Site full of Columns)
